Senior Application Security Architect

Assignment description
As a Senior Application Security Architect, you will serve as a trusted advisor to engineering and product teams. Your primary mission is to provide expert guidance on secure design, threat modeling, and security architecture across a diverse portfolio of applications.

You will be responsible for:
– Embedding security into the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
– Evaluating emerging technologies for potential risks.
– Developing and enforcing secure design standards.
– Influencing technical direction and supporting incident response efforts as a subject matter expert.
– Driving the adoption of secure coding practices across the organization.

About the team
You will join a collaborative, cross-functional environment where security is seen as an enabler of innovation. The team works closely with Engineering and Product departments to scale security initiatives in an Agile/DevOps setting. This is a high-impact environment that values mentorship, technical leadership, and proactive risk management.

Must haves
Skills:
Languages: Java, Python, JavaScript, Go.
Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Containerization & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.
Security Tooling: SAST, DAST, SCA, and IaC scanning tools.
Methodologies: CI/CD integration, DevSecOps, Microservices, and API security.

– 7+ years of experience in application security, software engineering, or a related technical field.
– Deep expertise in AppSec principles, specifically threat modeling, secure design, and risk assessment.
– Proven track record of designing secure architectures for complex, distributed systems.
– Cloud-Native Proficiency: Extensive experience securing environments in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
– Hands-on DevSecOps experience: Proven ability to integrate security tools directly into CI/CD pipelines.

Other requirements
– Location & Presence: This role is based in Wroclaw, and the candidate is required to be in the office 3 days per week.
– Security-First Mindset: Strong architectural and system design skills with an innate focus on security.
– Communication: Excellent ability to manage stakeholders and influence engineering teams toward secure outcomes.
– Mentorship: A passion for guiding and upskilling developers and junior security engineers.
– Bonus Skills: Experience in incident response, vulnerability management, or security operations.
