AI Engineer

(Part-Time)

Assignment description
The challenge: We currently support dozens of engineering programs. To scale to hundreds, we need AI-driven automation for content organization, curriculum understanding, and personalized learning experiences.

Build AI-powered learning tools for 10,000+ engineering students across Sweden. Next.js, Vercel AI SDK, small team, significant ownership.

What you’ll build:

AI study tools for students:
-Intelligent study assistant that understands engineering curriculum and course structures
-Automated course planning based on prerequisites, workload, and individual student goals
-Systems to organize and contextualize academic information
-Backend AI infrastructure:
-Content crawling and curriculum and document processing pipelines
-AI-powered internal tools for content management
-Scalable systems that reduce manual operational work

Developer tooling:
-Modern AI development workflows for the team (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, etc.)
-Integration patterns and best practices for Vercel AI SDK across the application

About the team
The team consists of 1,5 fulltime developers as of today

Must haves
Must-haves:

-Strong full-stack development experience with modern web technologies
-Hands-on experience with Next.js (or similar React framework)
-Demonstrated experience building with AI – either AI-powered applications or extensive daily use of AI development tools
-Ability to work independently and make architectural decisions
-Comfortable with ambiguity and taking ownership in an early-stage environment

Nice-to-haves:

-Experience with Vercel AI SDK or similar LLM integration frameworks
-Background in edtech or knowledge management platforms
-Familiarity with our specific stack (Next.js 15, React 19, TypeScript, Neon, Tailwind, shadcn/ui)
-Previous work on content crawling or data processing pipelines
-Experience scaling applications or building for growth
