Assignment description
You will help our client migrate from the existing Icinga deployment to a centralized multi-tenant monitoring solution built on AWS Managed Grafana. The platform will aggregate monitoring data from multiple customer AWS Organizations with automated alert management, notification routing, and extensibility for custom integrations.

Core Requirements:

1. Platform Architecture:
– AWS Managed Grafana as a central monitoring hub
– Cross-account data source integration from customer AWS Organizations
– CloudFormation-based deployment for customer onboarding (minimal manual configuration)
– Infrastructure as Code for all components (CloudFormation or Terraform)

2. Alert Management:
– Maintenance window scheduling via UI and API
– Time-based alert muting with granular control per alarm
– Alert state persistence and audit logging

3. Notification Integration:
– MS Teams integration for alert delivery using Power automated or other solutions
– Amazon Connect integration for voice escalation
– Configurable routing rules per customer/severity

About the team
The team consists of approximately 30 people, but this will be a separate project where you will work on a side project outside the client’s core business.

Must haves
Technical Requirements:
– AWS services proficiency (Grafana, CloudWatch, SNS, Lambda, Connect, Organizations)
– Hands-on Grafana experience (AWS Managed Grafana preferred)
– IaC expertise: CloudFormation and/or Terraform
– API design and integration patterns

Deliverables:
– Complete IaC codebase for platform deployment
– CloudFormation StackSets or Terraform setup for customer organization integration
– Alert routing and notification service
– Maintenance window management system
– API documentation and integration examples
– Runbooks for operations and customer onboarding

Other requirements
Success Criteria:
– Zero-touch customer onboarding via CloudFormation
– API-driven alert suppression and maintenance scheduling
– Reliable multi-channel notification delivery
– Extensible architecture for future AI/automation integrations
