Senior Full-stack Developer
Assignment description
Our Customer is looking for a Founding Product Full‑Stack Engineer to build a new AI‑powered insights product from scratch.
You will co-design and build end‑to‑end technical work: architecture, implementation, deployment and iteration of an MVP that turns existing qualitative and quantitative data into actionable insights for Our Customers’ end clients.
The goal with the MVP is to automate impact reporting for Our Customers’ learning and development platform, to build an engine that ingests learning data, analyzes it using LLMs, and generates insightful reports that show sponsors how effective their training investments are.
This is a greenfield initiative where you will:
– Design and implement an MVP that ingests and processes data and surfaces valuable insights
– Work closely with a product manager to refine scope, shape features and prioritize work, join customer interviews
– Set up and work within their existing toolchain (AWS, Bedrock, PostgreSQL, GitHub, Jira, Slack)
– Make pragmatic decisions about architecture and tech choices with an eye to future evolution (MVP that we can build on, not throw away)
– Potentially introduce specialized services in Python/Go/Rust for ML or data‑heavy components where TypeScript isn’t ideal
You’ll love it here if:
– You want to actually own things. Not “ownership” where you need three approvals to change a button color. Real ownership – – where you decide what to build, how to build it, and when to ship it.
– You’re genuinely full-stack – you’re equally happy building a slick UI component or optimizing a database query. There’s no task you’d refuse because it’s “not your specialty.”
– You care about the product, not just the code. You want to understand why we’re building something and you’ll push back if it doesn’t make sense.
– You love shipping. Like, you get genuinely excited when you push to production. That “it’s alive!” feeling never gets old.
– You work fast because you’re having fun, not because someone’s watching you.
The initial assignment is planned as a full‑time, 3–6 month engagement with a strong potential to extend if the MVP validates well with customers.
About the team
You will join a very small, focused team and effectively act as the “founding engineer” for a new value stream:
– 1 Product Manager as your primary partner in day‑to‑day work
– You as the sole full‑stack engineer, owning end‑to‑end development
– A senior engineer/architect available for high‑level technical guidance and decision support
– Occasional support from UX resources borrowed from other teams, when needed
This setup gives you a high degree of autonomy and impact, while still having product and technical support around you.
Must haves
– Solid full‑stack experience with TypeScript on both front‑end and back‑end
– Product-first mindset, you’re energized by solving customer problems, and view technology as a means to that end
– Strong experience building applications with Node.js and/or Golang on AWS
– Hands‑on experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL
– Proven track record of starting and driving projects from scratch (greenfield / MVP / POC)
– Ability to work independently and take ownership of architecture and implementation
– Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially working closely with Product Manager
– Comfortable working full‑time as a consultant for at least 3–6 months
Other requirements
– Interest in, or hands-on experience with, AI/ML systems and LLM integration is a strong plus
– Pragmatic, proactive mindset with a clear “builder” mentality
– Willingness to contribute to technical and process decisions, not just implementation
– Flexibility to adapt methodologies and tooling as the product and team evolve
About the customer
The customer is a product company building a new AI‑driven insights engine as part of a dedicated value stream. The goal is to combine existing qualitative and quantitative data and automatically extract meaningful insights that can be validated with customers and further developed into a scalable product.
They operate on AWS, use modern collaboration tools (Slack, Jira, GitHub), and are investing in AI capabilities via AWS Bedrock. The environment is pragmatic, collaborative and impact‑driven: quality matters because this MVP is intended to be the foundation for future development, not just a throwaway prototype.
If you enjoy building things from zero, owning both technology and execution, and working closely with product in a lean setup, this assignment is a strong fit.
