I’ve been in the hi-tech industry since late 90s, most of my time in various QA/QE positions (manual, automation, managerial), in the last several years mostly contributing to companies automation frameworks and mentoring. In my current role I’m also working closely with different teams and groups to improve their development velocity, meaning bringing better code faster to production. And this is the topic of my presentation: “Who’s afraid to deploy 5 minutes to weekend”, where I talk about the main painpoints that stops developers and QA alike from deploying their code at will. What should be done in order to overcome these valid obstacles, from “shift left” to mindset overhaul. I will show how it is done in few companies this was already implemented, what are the benefits of this approach and what are the risks.
